Berkhamsted announced as Finalist in two Muddy Stilettos Awards

We are delighted to announce that Berkhamsted has been selected as a Finalist in two categories of the Muddy Stilettos Awards!

Berkhamsted Pre-Prep has been selected as a Finalist for Best Creative Learning Through Play. Our research-led approach recognises the value of play in building deep learning, problem-solving and lifelong skills. From sensory play to outdoor learning, we ensure that every child experiences joy, discovery and innovation through immersive experiences which encourage curiosity and imagination.

Our Senior School has also been selected as a Finalist for Giving Something Back. The award focuses on our Social Entrepreneurship Programme which we run as part of our Year 10 character and leadership curriculum. Partnering with WeSeeHope, an organisation committed to creating sustainable, community-led change in Africa, pupils develop their entrepreneurial skills whilst raising money for young people to invest in their own future.

We are also thrilled to be Highly Commended in the Sustainability category for our engagement with the environment across the Schools Group. Starting at Pre-Prep, pupils are empowered to drive change within our community and beyond through leadership schemes like the Eco Council.

In addition, we are pleased to see Heatherton Highly Commended for the Debrett’s Education Award for Outstanding Pastoral Care. This achievement reflects our focus on creating an environment in which pupils feel comfortable and confident sharing their feelings. In addition to our thorough pastoral provision, we provide an excellent socio-emotional education which empowers pupils to identify and articulate their emotions from a young age. This contributes to the supportive and caring environment that Heatherton is renowned for.

To be recognised across these three categories highlights our core values – Aiming High with Integrity in everything we do, encouraging our pupils to Be Adventurous through play, and a commitment to Serve Others in our sustainability and social change initiatives.
