Berkhamsted Schools Group announced as Top Three Finalist for two School House Awards

We are delighted to announce that Berkhamsted Schools Group has been announced as a Top Three Finalist for two prestigious School House Awards, reflecting our unwavering commitment to Sustainability and Mental Health.

Sustainability Champion

Berkhamsted Schools Group has been nominated as a Finalist for the Sustainability Award. This recognises the outstanding range of sustainable initiatives put into place across our sites.

From bug hotels at Heatherton, to ‘Grassroots,’ a student platform dedicated to the discussion of sustainable practices, Berkhamsted proves that it stands at the forefront of environmental literacy and engagement. Pupils are empowered to reflect on the natural world and engage actively with its development, through leadership schemes such as the Pre-Prep’s Eco Team or Heatherton’s Planet Protectors.

Both the Pre-Prep and Heatherton have also achieved Distinction in the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.

Mind and Mental Health Champion

Berkhamsted Schools Group has also been nominated as a Finalist for the Mind and Mental Health Award.

Championing mental health is essential to Berkhamsted Schools Group. We are constantly engaging with new academic studies to drive mindful change, such as the introduction of smartphone free campuses. The House system, combined with a true breadth of effectively trained pastoral support systems, offer our pupils the best opportunity to thrive.
