Berkhamsted Schools Group Shortlisted for Three National Awards

We are delighted to announce that Berkhamsted Schools Group has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025, recognising excellence across our schools and community.

Heatherton – Small Independent School of the Year

Heatherton has been shortlisted for Small Independent School of the Year, a reflection of its outstanding environment and impact. Despite its small size, Heatherton makes a big difference – offering a nurturing, family-centred atmosphere while providing pupils with the exceptional resources and opportunities of the wider Berkhamsted Schools Group.

With a record number of entries this year, we are proud to be recognised amongst such a strong group of schools.

Sport – Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievement

Berkhamsted has also been shortlisted for Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievement. This nomination is testament to the remarkable sporting success our pupils have achieved across a wide range of sports, with national titles and tournament wins in lacrosse, netball, rugby, football, skiing, cricket, squash, tennis, fives, golf, and athletics this year alone.

At Berkhamsted, participation is as important as trophies. We encourage every pupil to take part to build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of sport.

Berkhamsted Girls – Independent Girls’ School of the Year

Berkhamsted Girls has been shortlisted for Independent Girls’ School of the Year. We are proud to be recognised in this category, celebrating the nurturing, forward-thinking environment where our pupils flourish both inside and outside the classroom.

Our ‘all girls’ setting allows pupils to be uninhibited in their learning and personal growth, while our specialist pastoral staff coach, support, and develop each pupil through their senior school years.

Finalists for each category will be announced on 9 September, with winners chosen by a judging panel of sector leaders and revealed at the awards ceremony in October 2025.

We are thrilled that our schools and community are being recognised nationally for their excellence and impact.
