Berkhamsted’s Musical Talent Show

Berkhamsted’s Musical Talent Show

Recently, pupils from Years 7 to 9 came together to showcase their talents and raise funds for Music For All, a charity dedicated to promoting better health, well-being, and education across the UK through music.

With teachers Mr. Curtis and Mr. Hockedy on the judging panel, pupils were determined to impress in the hopes of being crowned winners.

The evening kicked off on an upbeat note with Year 7’s Rhythm Bash band performing a lively rendition of James Brown’s ‘I Got You (I Feel Good)’. This was followed by a series of solo performances, with students taking the stage and showcasing their powerful voices. Georgiana and Annabel both delivered captivating performances of songs from musicals, leaving the audience in awe of their passionate vocals.

Before the interval, Miss Newlyn led the Junior Choir, and treated the audience to not just one, but two harmonious renditions of modern hits: Adele’s ‘Skyfall‘ and Coldplay’s ‘Vida La Vida’.

Various instruments were played throughout the evening, and classical hits were performed. Gibran impressed the audience with his piano rendition of JP Johnson’s ‘Over The Bars‘, while Maya showcased her talent with a performance of Hans Zimmer’s ‘Interstellar X Cornfield Chase’.

The Music Talent Show was a fantastic display of the musical abilities that exist even among the youngest members of our senior year groups. It provided yet another opportunity for our school community to unite and support the goal of making music education accessible to all.
