Boys Senior School Fees, Terms & Conditions

Our Boys school caters for boys aged 11-16, through years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Boys Senior School Fees from 1 January 2025

Registration fee
Payable on registration, non-refundable £186.67 + VAT = £224.00

For non UK applicants, £295.00 is paid directly to UKiset for the entrance test to Berkhamsted and no Berkhamsted Registration Fee is required

Deposits
Please see the Berkhamsted Schools Group’s Terms and Conditions for information on how and when the Acceptance Deposit and/or the Additional Deposit may be refunded. The Acceptance/Additional Deposits are subject to change and reference should be made to the published Terms and Conditions and Fees Schedule applicable at the time of Acceptance.

Acceptance Deposit – £2,500 payable by the parents of each pupil on acceptance of a place for September 2025 onwards. £1,000 to be refunded against the first invoice, the balance to be retained until your child leaves the Berkhamsted Schools Group. Fees are payable on the first day of term either by direct debit, bank transfer or debit card. Please note that no VAT is applicable on this deposit.

Overseas Additional Deposit – payable by parents who are living outside the United Kingdom at the point of application. This is an additional amount that, when added to the Acceptance Deposit, equates to one term’s boarding and tuition fees at the relevant rate shown below. Please note that no VAT is applicable on this deposit.

Introduction of VAT to Berkhamsted Schools Group Fees

As ever, Governors and the Executive team are seeking to ensure the School’s provision is excellent, whilst keeping increases in fees as low as possible.

VAT will be payable at 20% on all fees and educational extras from 1 January 2025, but not on after-school care which is non-educational. In recognition of the pressures on parents, the School will pass on all the VAT reclaim available (on inputs and on historic capital purchases) and, by making further savings, we will reduce the pre-tax fee, with the consequence that the addition of VAT will raise the cost of core tuition fees to parents by 12.42% from January 2025.  All other fees will rise by the full rate of VAT (20%) where applicable

Tuition fees
For convenience the annual fee is payable at the start of each term in three equal amounts.  Fees are payable on the first day of term either by direct debit, bank transfer or debit card.
