Celebrating Berko Boarding Week

To celebrate National Boarding Week, our close-knit Berkhamsted boarding community recently enjoyed an incredible Berko Boarding Week filled with excitement, fun and a vibrant showcase of the very best of boarding life at Berkhamsted. The week was packed with a wide variety of activities that brought our boarding community even closer together.
The fun kicked off on Monday with a lively table tennis competition and painting in the garden, followed by a delicious Big Boarding BBQ on Tuesday, where boarders and staff came together to also enjoy the much-anticipated Quiz of the Year, brilliantly led by our prefects.
Wednesday brought adventure and adrenaline with an afternoon at our thrilling high ropes course, and the ever-popular Blue Van made a welcome appearance. The evening’s entertainment was the first showing of our hilarious staff pantomime Berkmythsted, which was entirely written, directed and performed by Berkhamsted School staff.
Thursday evening’s relaxing garden games with our Head of Boarding, Chris Sutton, offered a perfect balance of fun and downtime. Then, on Friday, pupils enjoyed a visit to the Berkhamsted Bowls Club, trying their hand at a new sport in the beautiful sunshine.
The weekend wrapped up the celebrations with a second BBQ, delicious cake making, volleyball games and plenty of ice cream creations – the perfect way to finish the week’s activities.
At Berkhamsted, our boarding community is a warm, friendly and secure home from home where pupils are valued, supported, encouraged, and challenged so that they can be themselves and realise their potential. We also have a lot of fun!
Thank you to everyone who made Berko Boarding Week such a resounding success!
