EASTER TEA PARTY AND THE GREAT BERKHAMSTED BAKE-OFF!

EASTER TEA PARTY AND THE GREAT BERKHAMSTED BAKE-OFF!

Around 110 senior citizens from across the district were hosted to an Easter Tea Party held in the Nash-Harris Dining Hall at Berkhamsted School’s Kings Campus on Wednesday 1 April.

The event was arranged as part of the School’s community service programme, and saw pupil volunteers hosting tables and students entertaining the guests with music and song. The judging of the first ever ‘Great Berkhamsted Bake-Off’ was also held, with a large selection of scrumptious cakes on display, contributed by staff and pupils. Natascia Mateu-Bueso, in charge of Community Service Pupil Development at the School, explained that the Bake-Off was an extraordinarily competitive event, with outstanding submissions from every house in the school. “It was very hard for our judges to choose a winner for each category and judging went on for the best part of the afternoon. “The cakes absolutely delighted our guests at the Easter Tea Party, who spent time admiring them, and of course eating them! There was barely a crumb left at the end of the tea party!” says Mrs Mateu-Bueso.
