Heatherton wins the Red Cross Humanitarian Active School Award

It is with enormous pride that I am able to announce that Heatherton House School has won the Red Cross Humanitarian Active School Award.  We are the first Primary School in Bucks and the wider Thames Valley area to receive this special award and we are deeply honoured. To achieve it, the school had to take part in five different activities over a number of years, including learning a First Aid Skill, undertaking a fundraising activity for the British Red Cross and much more besides. The school has long been a supporter of this worthy charity.

The process started years ago with one of our former teachers, Mrs Helen Lawrence, who guided the girls through the Dance for Life competition, culminating in their winning the National Junior competition in 2011 while raising a substantial amount of money along the way.   Today our long association continues with Pauline Hall and Linda Neale teaching the girls First Aid skills and most recently with Dishita in Year 4, raising a significant sum of money for the children of Syria.  Peter Rushforth
