#FamilyFridays at Berkhamsted Cricket Club, sponsored by Berkhamsted Schools Group
Berkhamsted Schools Group is delighted to announce a new three-year sponsorship agreement with Berkhamsted Cricket Club for its vibrant weekly #FamilyFridays evenings at the club. As sponsor, this partnership reinforces Berkhamsted Schools Group as a committed member of the Berkhamsted community with a vested interest in supporting the health and wellbeing of its people.
Cricket is a widely loved sport, enjoyed by both boys and girls for its teamwork, skill and excitement. It is also one of the fastest growing girls’ and women’s sports. Both Berkhamsted Schools Group and Berkhamsted Cricket Club have a strong record of supporting children to develop their cricketing skills, with several pupils and teachers from the Schools playing in the 77 school teams or 31 club teams across different age and gender groups.
“The relationship between the cricket club and school has gone from strength to strength during my time involved, and I am absolutely delighted to see it formalised with the sponsorship of BCC’s #FamilyFridays. The two organisations have great responsibility for cricket in the area and this arrangement is good for the game. One of our jobs as a school is to help as many pupils as possible to have the skills to play, and to fall in love with, the game so that they want to be involved in club cricket for the rest of their lives. Supporting Berkhamsted Cricket Club, and the excellent relationship between the two organisations, helps this happen. As a current playing member of the cricket club with a daughter whose training session is part of the #FamilyFriday programme, I see first-hand the positive experience that #FamilyFridays bring to the town and I am excited that the school is able to support it.”
