Heatherton Spreads The Harvest Spirit

Heatherton Spreads The Harvest Spirit

Year 6 Heatherton pupils truly embraced the harvest spirit of giving this Thursday when they visited nearby residential care homes to entertain and chat to the residents.

Shortly after performing at the annual Harvest Festival, where the whole school, from Nursery to Year 6, prepared and performed Harvest-themed songs, small groups of Year 6 girls were taken to both Abbey Court in Chesham and Kings Lodge in Amersham. The girls then performed their favourite Harvest songs in front of the residents before sharing home-cooked biscuits with the appreciative audience and enjoying some wonderful conversation.

Year 6 pupil Amarah said: “We all really enjoyed the experience. It was great fun performing and it was very inspiring to meet the elderly residents.”

To finish off their Harvest celebrations, Heatherton also made a large gift of food and toiletries to the Chiltern Food Bank, thanks to very generous donations from pupils and parents.
