Pupils of all ages flourish in their levels of understanding, communication and quality of expression […] The school’s development of pupils’ highly effective use of vocabulary is a significant strength which deepens their understanding across the curriculum.

Forward thinking and outward looking enough not to be a bubble, but there’s a lovely innocence about this small girls’ school nonetheless.

    Good Schools Guide

Leaders review and thoughtfully adapt the curriculum so that teaching methods meet the learning needs of pupils in all year groups. Teachers communicate high expectations for pupils’ learning outcomes. They draw on their in-depth subject knowledge and devise well-planned lessons to motivate pupils and extend their thinking. Pupils, including those in the early years, make good progress as a result.

Congratulations to all our Year 3 girls for aiming high in their @bikeabilityuk session today. They are now experts at signalling, bike maintenance and manoeuvring. Everyone had lots of fun and all achieved their Level 1 pass certificate at the end the session. We can’t wait to hear about their adventures on their bikes at home. 🚲

🌟 New Term, New Opportunities at Heatherton 🌟

We’re proud to introduce the @commando_joes ‘Let’s Play’ programme, now part of our lunchtime provision. Designed around the 7 core elements of play, this initiative nurtures social and emotional development through structured, purposeful play.

From boosting creativity and teamwork to building confidence and physical literacy, Let’s Play supports the growth of the whole child, while making every breaktime active and meaningful. 🤝🎨⚽

Research shows that play at breaktime can contribute up to 40% of a child’s recommended daily physical activity and we’re thrilled to enhance this through engaging mini-missions that promote movement, collaboration and fun.

💛 A sincere thank you to our parents and the Friends of Heatherton. Your ongoing support and fundraising efforts make programmes like this possible, helping our girls grow into confident, compassionate individuals.

🎶 Celebrating Wonderful Women in Music!

On Thursday 20 March, the beautiful St Mary’s Church came alive with the sound of music during our Prep Spring Concert. This special evening was dedicated to honouring Wonderful Women, shining a spotlight on the brilliance of female composers throughout history and today. 🎼

Our talented pupils took to the stage with confidence and heart, performing a variety of pieces. From powerful solos to harmonious ensembles, every performance was a reminder of the creativity and passion our young musicians bring to the stage 👏

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this inspiring celebration of music, talent, and the remarkable impact of women in the arts! 🎻
