Strong research skills are evident in many examples of project work, and older pupils, in particular, show excellent ability to assimilate and analyse a wide range of sources.

Developing Remarkable People - Sport teaches us so much about character. This was highlighted yesterday in the Girls 1st XI Last 16 game in @cricketpapercups (The Hundred).

The opposition were one wicket down batting first when their number three flicked the ball down to fine leg. It looked like it was going for four, but Hannah chased it and kept it in. The batters had stopped running, thinking it had gone for 4, Hannah’s throw came into Christina who removed the bails and appealed for the wicket. The batters had realised their mistake and tried to get back, but the one at the wicket-keepers end was caught short and given out by the umpire.

As the batter was walking off, wicket-keeper, Christina asked if she could withdraw the appeal and the batter be reinstated, which the umpires agreed to. In a national cup last 16 game that now sees the team two wins from a Lords final, this was a remarkable piece of sporting behaviour.

We love that sport allows players the opportunity to make decisions and develop their character in this manner. #SpiritofCricket @homeofcricket

A superb day out for the U13 Girls Football team at the @isfafootball Essex regional tournament. The Girls came second in their group with 3 wins and a loss, and then beat St. Joseph’s 2-0 in the semi final. Despite losing to Highgate 1-0 in the final, the team have qualified for National finals day at St. George’s Park in June. A brilliant achievement and a great day out in prospect at the home of football! @berkhamstedgirls @berkhamstedschools #teamberko
