A Message from our new Principal

“As I begin my tenure as Principal of Berkhamsted Schools Group, I want to say how humbled I am to have the honour of serving this remarkable community. I find that Berkhamsted is a place where people genuinely look out for one another and a supportive, welcoming, ambitious ethos sits at the heart of school life.

I am often asked by candidates at interview what I like most about working at Berkhamsted. My answer is always the same: it’s the warm, caring and deeply engaged community, and the striking sense of a collective growth mindset that seems woven into the DNA of the School. There is a shared desire across pupils, staff and parents to keep improving and to aim even higher. I find that commitment to providing a top-quality education energising and uplifting, and it’s a privilege to take on the role of Principal in a group of schools with such purpose and momentum.

Our values of aiming high with integrity, being adventurous, and serving others will continue to guide our decisions. I want our pupils not only to make excellent progress, but to also enjoy coming to school each day and have fun! School should be a place where children discover their passions, explore new opportunities, and feel supported to stretch and challenge themselves in ways that build both character and confidence.

A Berkhamsted education is about far more than academic success alone. Character development flourishes through a broad and balanced mix of academic study, co-curricular involvement, and the social experiences that help young people grow into grounded, compassionate, resourceful individuals who will flourish both at school and beyond.”
