‘Next Steps 2020’ Evening on Thursday 19th March cancelled
With great regret, we have taken the decision to cancel the ‘Next Steps’ event on Thursday 19th March. The speed with which Covid-19 has spread in the last week, and the possibility of visitors or members of the School community unwittingly spreading it to others at the event, have been too great for us to ignore. We are particularly concerned that we do what we can to prevent disruption to the education of Year 13 and Year 11 in the run-up to their public exams in May and June. To host such a large (and disparately attended) event at this moment would conflict with this being our highest priority.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We will announce in due course the details for ‘Next Steps’ 2021. Berkhamsted School hosts one of the region’s most comprehensive events for students considering their options when they leave sixth form. Students from schools in the local area are very welcome. It will be particularly suitable for students in Y11, Y12 and Y13 who are making decisions about their future.
The aim of the evening is to highlight to students (and their parents) the range of post-18 options available. There will be an opportunity to speak with representatives from over 35 universities, find out about higher/degree apprenticeships, meet with professionals in a number of career areas and hear about various gap year / adventure programmes.
There will also be companies on hand who specialise in providing guidance on Oxbridge applications, US university admissions, medical applications and immersive career experiences.
Please watch the video below to gain an insight into the fair and complete the form if you wish to receive further information regarding the 2021 event.
