We always recognise that there will be a variety of outcomes and needs for your business.
“The best way to develop leadership and develop team building and bonding is through experience.”
Leadership is both complex and simple. It may require predominantly interactive skills as a developer of the capabilities of other people, or it may require inspirational insight in pushing the boundaries of human knowledge alone in a laboratory.
At Berkhamsted we believe in developing leadership through experiential learning, backed up by comprehensive reviewing. Using a combination of team-building tasks and high ropes activities, we put clients into stretch and through reviewing explore how he/she might be more effective. This style of learning is fun and productive, working on developing awareness of self and others.
No person in an organisation should be labelled ‘the leader’. Team members may not always aspire to become leaders, but if they are aware of what a leader does, it increases the probability of the team to become stronger. In different contexts, the requirements of leadership will draw differently on a palette of skills and abilities which may be described, practised, and reflected upon, which is why we believe so strongly in reviewing without judging.
Failing is seen as simply a step closer towards success. Allowing clients to practice being under pressure and by reviewing decisions made, use of language is a great way to help leaders, or future leaders to become more self-aware. Through this we aim to develop leaders who are:
Innovative and resilient
Adventurous and motivated
Ambitious and compassionate
Overall, we want to help leaders who are innovative and resilient, ambitious but also compassionate and this applies to adults as much as children. Doing this will develop remarkable people.
At Berkhamsted we believe in developing remarkable teams of people who can work in cross functional teams and understand diversity. Using our high ropes facility, and surrounding grounds, we put clients through activities that will help them to become more confident and to develop better relationships. Conflict in teams can cost time and money, but you can improve your team by working on their relationships. We do this by getting people outside of their comfort zone and through shared experience, relationships bond. Team members will often work better when they have shared some mutual adversity. That is what we can deliver, and we can make it fun too!
