Maintaining a positive learning environment for every pupil
At Berkhamsted Pre-Prep, we believe in early identification and early intervention. As such, children who need more support than others are identified quickly. We communicate our concerns with parents to ensure transparency and to provide support and advice so that we continue to work in partnership for the best interests and outcomes for your children.
We hold regular learning review meetings with parents to discuss targets and to provide guidance in order to enhance and maintain academic progress.
Our Learning Support department maintains a positive learning environment for every pupil, supporting each child to perform to the best of their ability in their core academic subjects.
Learning support is provided in either individual sessions or small groups.
Our more academically adventurous pupils are recognised and receive the appropriate extension work.

Why Berkhamsted?
As dreamy country schools go, the pre-prep is right up there, while the prep – a five minute drive away – is much bigger and so urban it could almost be London.
Staff share an ambitious vision, with high expectations for what all children can achieve and ensure that high standards of learning and care are delivered.
Inside, the emphasis on teaching and learning, as well as cross-curricular, is evident from the glass-covered noticeboards alone – among the largest and most comprehensive we’ve seen.
