Pupils coached by Oxford Rugby Club

We were delighted to receive a special visit from Oxford University Rugby Club who delivered rugby training sessions to both Prep and Senior pupils this week.

Scott Hall, Head of Oxford’s Women’s team, led a series of fun drills and games with Prep pupils to challenge their coordination and teamwork skills. With the sun shining down on our 3G Astro pitch, it was fantastic to see both boys and girls getting involved with rugby and developing their technique.

Our Senior Boys and Girls squads also received specialist coaching from the club. A member of the Oxford Rugby Blues team assisted with training the U18s in preparation for the upcoming Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s competition. This was a great opportunity for pupils to receive advice from an older role model and see the benefits of continuing to play rugby alongside completing a degree at Oxford.

“We’re incredibly thankful for all the coaches coming in,” says Mr Tom Pierce, Director of Sport. “It’s always great for pupils to hear new voices and new ideas – and hopefully inspire the next generation of rugby players!”

Berkhamsted is always looking to forge relationships with local and regional organisations in order to support our pupils’ sporting journey. This marks the first step in an exciting new collaboration with Oxford University and we look forward to what the future holds!
