Reception’s Minibeast Day

Reception’s Minibeast Day

Reception had a fantastic time celebrating Minibeast Day last week, using their imagination and creativity to enjoy a range of exciting activities.

Arriving to School dressed in their best insect dress, or as intrepid explorers, there was a real sense of enthusiasm amongst our Reception pupils. First on the agenda was a minibeast themed Motor Movers session, where they danced and moved to a range of bug-themed songs. They explored different ways of moving like insects, using their bodies creatively and energetically.

Later, the children used their imagination and creativity to transform recycled and natural materials into their own mini creatures. We saw pinecone bumblebees, stone bugs and log slice spiders, all made with great care and pride.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a range of engaging activities, including messy play with frogspawn-inspired jelly and spaghetti worms. The children loved exploring both indoors and outdoors, we even transformed our hall into an explorer base camp with a tent.

It was a wonderful day filled with creativity and exploration—and most importantly, lots of fun!
