An evening with former Saracens and international rugby players gave the community an entertaining and educational insight into the highs and lows of five players’ careers. It was the first of a series of events to be organised by the Berkhamsted Society.
The Berkhamsted Society formed in 2018 to integrate alumni, former parents, neighbours and friends with the school’s current pupils, parents and staff.
The organisers secured a high profile line-up of guests including Charlie Hodgson, Will Fraser, Henry Fraser, Jim Hamilton and Alistair Hargreaves.
From the low points in a sporting career to premiership titles
Richard Thompson, Assistant Vice Principal who is leading the Berkhamsted Society said “This was a night truly enjoyed by all. Old Berkhamstedians Will and Henry Fraser, along with Jim Hamilton, Alistair Hargreaves and Charlie Hodgson talked openly about their lives before, during and after careers in rugby. Questions and candid discussions unfolded with the interactive audience. The guests enjoyed the sharp sense of humour displayed by the panel.
“I would like to offer my thanks to Will, Henry, Jim, Alistair and Charlie, as well as to all of those who supported this Berkhamsted Society event which was the first in what will become a regular programme of events of political, cultural and social interest for the community.”
