We’re National Champions!

We’re National Champions!

We are the (National) Champions!

A huge congratulations to our Swimming Squad, whose hard work and dedication led them to take gold in last Saturday’s IAPS National Swimming Championships’ Year 5 and Year 6 Small
Schools 200m Relay Race.

We were seeded 1st in the race, and the eight-strong
team stormed their way to victory with
a time of 2.13.01 minutes – just four seconds off the record set by Heatherton
House in 2006.

In the individual events, Amelie Brown, our swimming Captain, seeded 12th, achieved a very respectable 10th position in the U11 50m Backstroke with a personal best (PB) of 38.64 seconds. Roísín Hynes, our Vice-Captain, also achieved a PB of 32.20 seconds in the U11 50m Individual Freestyle and increased her position from 8th seed to a fantastic 6th equal. In the U11 Freestyle Relay Race, we were seeded 8th and came 6th with a great time of 1.01.31 seconds.

Thank you so much to the whole squad for all their hard work and, of course, to their parents and loyal supporters. We also must thank our swimming coaches Richard Osborne
and Gilly Hughes, who work tirelessly for the team.

The swimming squad are now looking forward to
the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA ) Primary Schools Championships that
take place on Saturday 21st June.
