Youth Advocacy and Making a Difference
In this episode of ‘In the Berkhamsted Spotlight’ podcast, we speak to Old Berkhamstedian, Sarah Baharaki, who bravely fled Afghanistan in 2021 following the Taliban takeover. After relocating to the UK, Sarah connected with a Berkhamsted teacher who helped her obtain a scholarship at our School. Amidst the challenges of adjusting to a new life, she thrived academically and socially, excelling in Business, Economics, and Art.
Since graduating from Berkhamsted, Sarah has made her mark globally. She served as a UK Youth Delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women, became a Global Ambassador for Theirworld, and delivered the keynote address at the United Nations‘ Economic and Social Council Youth Forum in New York in April 2024.
