Joe Beadle performs live on national radio ahead of the BBC Proms

One of Berkhamsted School’s most gifted musicians, Joe
Beadle, has performed on BBC Radio 3.

Joe was joined by fellow members of the National Youth
Orchestra of Great Britain ahead of their performance at the BBC Proms on
Saturday. A proportion of the classical station’s 2.12 million listeners tuned
in to hear their duet and trio with Joe playing both the piano and accordion.

Highlights include:

10min 28s: Joe’s introduction and discussion of the Proms
piece to be played at the Royal Albert Hall.

14min 40s: NYO GB performance of ‘Saltarello’ live in the studio.

21 min 45s: Joe’s improvised arrangement of three
traditional Russian and Romanian folk songs in a duet. Here Joe plays both the piano
and the accordion.

Summer Exploits

An action packed summer holiday for Joe started with the
Berkhamsted Music tour to Prague, and Gold DofE practice expedition before
joining the National Youth Orchestra for a series of concerts.

Joe collects his GCSE results later this month as he anticipates
studying A Levels at Berkhamsted Sixth Form. He already has a music related diploma
from Trinity College completed. late in 2016.
