ST JAMES’S PALACE VISIT FOR GOLD DOFE AWARD RECIPIENTS

Sixteen pupils from Berkhamsted School had the honour of collecting their Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Awards at St James’s Palace on 29 April 2014.

Mr Duncan Hardy, Director of Outdoor Education, was in attendance as a representative from the School and acting as the DofE Marshall, and Adventurer Charles Pitcher (pictured in the centre) presented the awards in the Presence of HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.  Mr Hardy commented: “We are delighted to have had so many successful candidates at the Palace on the same day and look forward to many more in the future. Berkhamsted strongly supports pupils on the scheme and this summer 112 pupils from the School will be taking part in Gold Duke of Edinburgh expeditions in the Lake District and French Alps.”
