Berkhamsted student to perform in ‘most beautiful and difficult’ Piano Concerto

Berkhamsted student to perform in ‘most beautiful and difficult’ Piano Concerto

Joe Beadle, Year 12, has performed live in front of Her Majesty The Queen and has completed a music qualification equal to a degree. But performing as a soloist this Sunday (20 May) with Dacorum Symphony Orchestra will be one of Joe’s most important events in his musical journey.

He has been invited to star in one of the ‘most beautiful and most difficult’ piano concertos – the Piano Concerto in A Minor, by Robert Schumann. Joe will dedicate his performance to Andrew Hardy a young member of the orchestra who died in 2017.

“This concert is so important for me, because I’ve been working towards it since September, and I am being sponsored by Brian and Hilary Hardy.

“Their son, Andrew, who used to play in the orchestra, sadly died very young last year, due to a brain haemorrhage. I remember him from church for being such a warm and kind man, and I feel privileged to perform in memory of him.”

Joe hopes to see many Berkhamsted pupils, staff, parents and friends of the school attend the concert.

“I am quite nervous, but so excited for the opportunity – it’d be fantastic to see some smiling faces of the Berkhamsted community to share it with me!

“The vibe from amateur orchestras thrives off the supportive energy of an audience, so it promises to be a fantastic atmosphere. It would be great for the community to come and support us making music together, in the name of a wonderful gentleman – Andrew Hardy.”

The concert is being held on Sunday 20th May 2018 at 3.30pm at Centenary Theatre, Kings Road, Berkhamsted HP4 3BG. Doors open at 3pm.
