Research shows that the early years of a child’s education lay the foundations for later development. Children aren’t ‘just playing’ at this age, they are building essential skills and character traits that will stay with them for life.

At Pre-Prep, we focus on developing pupils’ role-play and imagination through the creative arts. We encourage them to take risks and grow confidence in themselves as performers.
Exploring the performing arts is fundamental to children’s development. Opportunities for music and drama include performing in whole school assemblies and during workshops such as Creative Arts Week. We also have dedicated music classes from the time children start at our Stepping Stones Nursery.
We know that play is a vital part of your child’s growth. That’s why we encourage play-based, immersive learning at Berkhamsted Pre-Prep and Prep, fostering creativity, critical thinking and social skills.
Our expansive Walled Garden, immersive learning experiences and new Sensory Hub help children to navigate the world around them through play. These early years experiences shape their journey through the School and build a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
