Berkhamsted Pre-Prep Open Event – Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October; Berkhamsted Day Nursery Saturday 5 October
Visit Berkhamsted Pre-Prep, meet our Headteacher, Mrs Karen O’Connor, and take a tour of the school. Recommended for those wishing to join Stepping Stones (3+) or Year 2 in 2025 and beyond. Please note that these are our two official entry points for the Pre-Prep; all other Year groups are subject to availability.

Recommended for those wishing to join at our official entry points of Nursery, Reception or Year 2 in 2025 and beyond. This is the opportunity to see our Sports Facilities in action from the Chesham Road Playing Fields to the Knox Johnston Sports Centre. Meet our Heads of Sport, our pupils and find out more about all the sports on offer at Berkhamsted Senior & Sixth. Recommended for anyone interested in joining Berkhamsted Boys, Berkhamsted Girls or Berkhamsted Sixth.
Berkhamsted Girls Open Event – Friday 20 September
Visit Berkhamsted Girls, hear from our Headteacher, Ms Emma Watson, and take a pupil-led tour of the school. Please choose the arrival time slot for your visit to our open event. Each time slot has a limited number of places and we do advise early booking. Recommended for those joining in Year 7 2025/26. Please note that Year 9 is not an official entry point for Berkhamsted Girls and places are subject to availability.

Developing Remarkable People
Berkhamsted offers a well-rounded education that develops pupils into remarkable people.
The school delivers on its motto of ‘Developing Remarkable People’ – students are notably engaging and enjoy taking part in everything the school has to offer.
Staff share an ambitious vision, with high expectations for what all children can achieve and ensure that high standards of learning and care are delivered.
Clearly an academically driven department, it’s refreshing to meet the Head of Sixth, Martin Walker, and hear that the students get the support and encouragement to find and follow their own path whatever that may be – from setting up their own business or doing an apprenticeship.
Value added is the name of the game: most enter the nursery at national standard, but by year 6 the vast majority are well beyond it, with many of them significantly above.
Pupils show pronounced and highly effective study skills, appropriate to their age. Strong research skills are evident in many examples of project work, and older pupils, in particular, show excellent ability to assimilate and analyse a wide range of sources.
