Value added is the name of the game: most enter the nursery at national standard, but by year 6 the vast majority are well beyond it, with many of them significantly above.

Pupils develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and resilience to a mature level, encouraged by the school’s focus on perseverance.

We had a fabulous time at our first joint Pre-Prep and Prep Summer Fair!

Our Prep children were excellent at running their own stalls and encouraging the younger children to take part. A joy to see.

Lots of happy children and families thanks to the hard work by our Friends committee.

🌟 Every day is a day for imaginative and creative play at @berkopreprep and @berkhamstedprep ! 🌟

Guided by the latest early years education research, play is an important part of every lesson. Through daily play, pupils learn how to collaborate, think creatively, and question the world around them.

The early years are crucial for a child’s development, and at Berkhamsted, we’re building foundations that last a lifetime. Through play, our children navigate the world, boost their social skills, and enhance their cognitive abilities, helping to develop into remarkable adults.

We were proud to join the @unitednations in celebrating the inaugural #internationaldayofplay, which showcased our dedication to offering the best opportunities for our children.

Throughout the day, pupils played games which were specially selected to encourage their collaboration, confidence, and critical thinking, each of which are essential for success in pupils’ later School life and future careers. Many of the games incorporated essential maths and English skills, from a wordle-style English game to a ‘hook-a-duck’ style maths game, preparing them for academic success throughout their time at School and beyond.

We look forward to many more days of joyful discovery and learning, where imaginative and creative play continues to be at the heart of our children’s growth and development. 🌈🧩

So many of our children participated in our Prep Aquathlon!

It was great to see the enjoyment and team spirit as they challenged themselves and supported one another throughout the event.

Another great sporting event!
