Why Berkhamsted?

Pupils show pronounced and highly effective study skills, appropriate to their age. Strong research skills are evident in many examples of project work, and older pupils, in particular, show excellent ability to assimilate and analyse a wide range of sources.

This week, our sports staff had the incredible opportunity to learn from former @englandnetball player and @ldnmavericksnetball Director of Netball, @tamsingreenway!
Tamsin led an engaging CPD session at our Knox-Johnston Sports Centre, putting our teachers through their paces with drills and games designed to enhance netball performance. But it wasn’t just about netball—our staff developed transferable skills in movement, space awareness, communication, and coordination, benefitting all sports across our curriculum.
A huge thank you to Tamsin for sharing her expertise! 👏 Our partnership with @ldnmavericksnetball is invaluable in supporting both our staff and pupils, inspiring future athletes and growing confidence in sport. 💪

Through our book swap, everyone had the chance to take home a new read, sparking conversations about the power of storytelling and encouraging them to be adventurous.

🏃♀️ Speed walking and expert pancake flipping were the name of the game, at the annual Berkhamsted Girls pancake race! 🥞
Mr Hockedy tried to demonstrate the perfect flipping technique but it was Old Stede who whisked their way to a sweet victory, with Holme close behind.

The sun shone for our pupil-led Act of Remembrance as we remembered those who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars, including many @oldberkhamstedians.
🎺Chloe C performed ‘The Last Post’ on the trumpet, with Thea and Daisy G. reading the exhortation and laying the commemorative wreath.

House Performing Arts Competition Highlights! 🎭✨
From ABBA to the Spice Girls, and even Dua Lipa – iconic bands lit up Berkhamsted’s Centenary Theatre thanks to the creativity and talent of our pupils! 💥
@BerkhamstedGirls kicked off the day with dazzling lights, epic costumes, and show-stopping performances featuring Dua Lipa, the Spice Girls, and more. It was clear from the smiles on stage that everyone was having a blast! 🎶💃
A special mention must also go to the individual performances that accompanied the competition. From dance to musical theatre, duets, solos and instrumental pieces, the musical talent of our pupils is outstanding, as is the desire to be adventurous and perform in front of their peers.
