Everything they need for the perfect performance

Our 500-seat professional style theatre sits alongside our intimate studio spaces for smaller plays. Our full-time Theatre Technicians ensures all productions run smoothly and are able to provide expert training to pupils who are interested in the technical and design side of Drama. Our theatre is equipped with industry standard lighting and sound facilities. All the Drama teaching spaces at Berkhamsted have their own lighting and sound equipment and productions are enhanced by an ever-growing wardrobe, props and scenery store.

Our A Level Theatre Studies results reflect our students’ dedication to combining their performing talent with analytical written work.

5 Star Reviews

In Sixth Form, students regularly perform at or visit the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, under the company name of  ‘Greene Shoots Theatre’ and regularly receive four and five reviews from professional critics.

Drama and Public Speaking Lessons

Berkhamsted Sixth also has a large number of students who take extra Drama and public speaking lessons, leading to LAMDA examinations up to Grade 8, taught by a number of peripatetic teachers. These are accredited examinations and the grades 6-8 count toward points on our students’ UCAS applications.

There are examination sessions booked each term, often followed by a Speech and Drama Evening providing an opportunity for the students to perform their examination work to an audience.
