We believe in building character from an early age. We offer emotion coaching and peer-led personal development programmes that enable pupils of different ages to learn from one another.
Pupils are encouraged to put themselves forward for leadership roles and take on a position of responsibility within the School community, developing vital interpersonal skills that increase employability.
We offer extensive co-curricular opportunities ranging from the performing arts to sport and outdoor education. Our outstanding facilities include a 500-seat professional standard theatre, 25m swimming pool, 4G AstoTurf and a dedicated outdoor education site.
Recognised programmes such as Duke of Edinburgh and Combined Cadet Force are available for pupils to challenge themselves and take on new skills. Pupils are encouraged to participate in a range of opportunities throughout their time at Berkhamsted to build character and develop into well-rounded, remarkable people.
Our excellent academic output works alongside a programme of personal development to ensure students are best placed to pursue their dreams.
Pupils are encouraged to take a wide range of subjects at GCSE, as well an HPQ which offers an opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest. We are proud that 75.6% of GCSE pupils received Grade 7-9 in 2025 and intend to maintain this standard in the years to come.
