125 SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING

125 SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING

Around 800 members of the Berkhamsted Schools Group community, including staff and pupils from all schools within the Group, gathered at St Albans Cathedral for a special thanksgiving service on 30 April to mark the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of Berkhamsted School for Girls on 1 May 1888.

The service featured beautiful singing from the Chamber Choir, the Girls’ Junior Choir and the Girls’ Senior Choir and wonderful contributions by representatives of each of the Girls’ Houses, the current Head Girl, Lizzie Apthorp and former principal, Dr Priscilla Chadwick, who delivered the Address. It was an occasion that provided a most fitting tribute to this special anniversary in the history of the education of girls at Berkhamsted School.
