Berkhamsted Pre-Prep win the Independent Pre-Prep School of the Year Award 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Berkhamsted Pre-Prep has won the Independent Pre-Prep School of the Year Award in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2023. Hosted by Dr Helen Wright, the annual awards celebrate the extraordinary student experience offered by independent schools across the UK.

At Berkhamsted, we understand that the earliest years of a child’s education are hugely formative of their later development. We are delighted that our Pre-Prep’s dedication to our youngest pupils’ learning and well-being is being recognised on a national scale.

Berkhamsted’s philosophy of Developing Remarkable People begins in pupils’ earliest years. By balancing the progression of a pupil’s foundational academic skills with the growth of their social and emotional development, every pupil at Berkhamsted Pre-Prep has the opportunity to build relationships, think creatively, and question the world around them.

Whether it’s through utilising Steve Peter’s Chimp Paradox to encourage pupils to understand their own behaviour or using our extensive outdoor education facilities to build pupils’ teamwork and leadership skills, upon leaving Berkhamsted Pre-Prep, our pupils are equipped with the vital emotional, social, and intellectual skills that enable them to thrive during the rest of their school career and beyond.

Our success in the Independent School of the Year Awards also recognises our Pre-Prep’s dedication to child-centred learning. Throughout the Pre-Prep, we take a carefully constructed and individualised approach towards the nurture and education of every child that walks through our door.

With hundreds of nominations for the award and a panel of judges consisting of the UK’s top educational leaders, being named Independent Pre-Prep School of the Year is something Berkhamsted is immensely proud of.
