EQUESTRIAN SQUAD AMONG TOP SIX IN THE UK

EQUESTRIAN SQUAD AMONG TOP SIX IN THE UK

The School’s dressage team of Georgia Woodrow, Rebecca Taylor and Josh and Ben Barton became the County Dressage Champions on 7 April. Josh also won the individual Prelim title and Eleanor Grigg won the individual Novice title.

This meant they went on to represent Hertfordshire at the National County Championships on 18th April. The standard was extremely high but our team performed brilliantly and finished sixth in the UK. In the Individual Novice Championship Eleanor finished 10th. We also had our Mini and Intermediate show jumping teams representing Hertfordshire and Abbey Winterburn competing both for the team and as an individual. In the Mini Championship both Taila Clarke and Alice Taylor jumped superb double clear rounds but sadly the team was not placed. However the Intermediate team of Alex Bousfield, Rebecca Taylor, Abbey Winterburn and Josh Barton rode well and finished fifth nationally with Josh getting an important double clear. Berkhamsted was the only school to finish in the top six in both dressage and show jumping – an impressive achievement.Berkhamsted was the only school to finish in the top six in both dressage and show jumping – an impressive achievement.
