INK IS BEST ONLINE MAGAZINE AT SHINE AWARDS

NK – the student-run school magazine – has had another successful year culminating in a host of accolades at the Shine National School Media Awards, including Best Online Magazine.

In 2014-15 INK was headed up by a strong editorial and production team of Christina Storey, Luke O’Sullivan and Sarah Witty, supported by seven other Year 13 section editors. This is the first year, since the magazine’s conception, that the INK team has managed to produce three online issues between September and March, culminating in a fourth publication – the highly professional ‘Best Of’ print edition. At the Shine National School Media Awards in June, INK received many accolades recognising its quality and strengths; it was awarded three highly commended scrolls in ‘Best Design and Layout’, ‘Best Magazine’ and ‘Most Outstanding Pupil’. Luke O’Sullivan – technical and design Chief – was awarded ‘Young Production Editor with exceptional Promise’ – richly deserved after his three dedicated and committed years of service to INK. The publication also won the highly coveted ‘Best Online Magazine’ in the country, winning a trophy and £1,000 to develop the magazine further next year. Miss Ireland would like to extend her warmest thanks to all the 50 contributors in 2014-2015 who helped to make INK the success it is.
