Regional champions compete at National football finals
A squad of U11 footballers travelled to St George’s Park, Staffordshire for the ISFA seven-a-side National finals. They qualified among 18 of the country’s best schools having won the East Regional football Championship last month.
Held at the FA National Football Centre, the squad of 10 Berkhamsted Prep boys had the opportunity play on the pristine pitches of the £105m facility.
The heavy rainfall did not dampen spirits, as the boys played with enthusiasm in front of a large crowd of spectators.
Berkhamsted finished the group stage undefeated in four out of the five fixtures. However it was not quite enough to progress to the quarter finals.
After two further fixtures, Berkhamsted Prep finished 9th. An excellent achievement, and a wonderful experience to finish off a successful football season for Berkhamsted Prep. Congratulations to the whole squad of players and to Anthony Gillam – coordinator of Prep Boys PE & Games.
